At 5:45 pm Kosciusko Police and City Fire responded to a house fire at 316 East Adams Street. The caller said everyone was out of the home. MedStat was dispatched to be on medical stand by in case their services were needed. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and notified responding units that there was heavy smoke coming from the roof sector of the home. Officers blocked the road to keep traffic and spectators from getting to close. The fire seemed to spread very quickly in the attic of the structure. Firefighters battled the fire and intense heat and were able to contain the flames by 6:25 pm.
There has been no word on the cause of the fire but the home owner told Breezy News that he thinks the fire started in the attic of his home. He said the home was built in 1946 and held many fond memories for his family. As of 7:40 fire personnel were still on scene.
