It was a beautiful afternoon for Region 4-4A Baseball at Whippet Field in Kosciusko as the Kosciusko Whippets took the field to play the West Point Green Wave. The Whippets entered the game with a 5-1 season record and the Green Wave also entered with a 5-1 season record. After a 3 up 3 down top of the 1st inning for the Green Wave the Whippets scored 4 runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-0 lead in the game. The Green Wave would come alive the in top of the 3rd inning and score 2 runs to cut the Whippets lead in half 4-2. No runs would come across the plate in the 4th or 5th innings but the Green Wave would score 1 run in the top of the 6th cutting the Whippets lead to only 1 run 4-3. The Whippets regained a 2 run lead in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 1 run to go back up 5-3 and that would be the final score in the game as the Green Wave failed to score in the top of the 7th inning. Chase Morgan was named today’s Autumn Ridge Dental player of the game. Our next broadcast of Whippets baseball will be next Saturday afternoon as the Whippets travel to West Point to again play the Green Wave.
