Health Science students compete in district contest

Health Science I & II Students from the Kosciusko-Attala Career Tech Center recently competed in the Central District HOSA Competition at Meridian Community College.

The group had 23 students to score in the top 5 in their category.

Those students will move on to the state competition on March 28-30, 2017 in Jackson, MS.

Students advancing to state competition inlcude:

  • 1st Place-Medical Math (Alexis McBride)
  • 1st Place-Medical Reading (Bailey Britt)
  • 2nd Place-Pathophysiology (Tanner Threet)
  • 2nd Place-Biomedical Laboratory Science (Dhruv Patel)
  • 2nd Place-Health Career Display (Anna Claire Blaylock & Natalie Howell)
  • 3rd Place-Research Persuasive Speaking (Abbey McCrory)
  • 3rd Place-Forensic Medicine (Kimberly Evans & Keyunia Nash)
  • 3rd Place-Health Education (Kalei Campbell, Robrianna Clark, Paige Dendy, & Nadia Moak)
  • 4th Place-Medical Assisting (Madeline McCown)
  • 4th Place-Physical Therapy (Kaleigh Myer)
  • 4th Place-Extemporaneous Health Poster (Jaylon Hollman)
  • 4th Place-Extemporaneous Writing (Curt Pope)
  • 5th Place-Veterinary Science (Karyme Peralta)
  • 5th Place-Prepared Speaking (Shay Collins)
  • State Qualified-Biomedical Debate (Jake Cockroft, Brianna Johnson, Loren Steed, & Kamrie Upchurch)
